Royal Mail has taken on 33,000 seasonal workers in 2020 and to cope with demand as more people turn to online orders amid lockdown. How is Royal Mail handling the extra post? In Scotland, there will no deliveries or collections on January 2, 3 and 4. There will be no delivery service on New Year’s Day. This means there will be no Royal Mail deliveries on Christmas Day, Boxing Day, Sunday December 27 or Monday December 28. Royal Mail will resume normal service on December 29 due to Boxing Day falling on a Saturday and the Bank Holiday rolling over to Monday 28. “We know how important this is.” When is the next post after Christmas Day? The statement read: “While we cannot currently provide a guarantee that items posted on Wednesday 23rd December will arrive prior to Christmas due to the impact of the new coronavirus restrictions, we can assure you that we will be endeavouring to deliver all items as quickly as possible. The suspension of Royal Mail’s special delivery means they cannot guarantee items posted on December 23 would arrive before Christmas.
